The Objectives of Research

Research efforts are made to develop the Human Resources (HR), institutions, development of science, technology, and art, as well as to solve the problem of development. Almost all the issues of faculty research activities are conducted in government, as well as among the people directly which are always oriented to the creation of applications that can be used to help the community and the use of ICT training at the community level.

In addition the research is conducted in order to create a knowledge-based society (knowledge-based society) society needed in the era of knowledge-based economy (knowledge-based economy), and to encourage the entrepreneurial spirit of peoples lives (public-spirited entrepreneur). The themes raised has become a fundamental and regular assessment of each lecturer in Purwokerto AMIKOM STMIK environment, such as: application artificall Intelligence, data mining, ICT, an increase in technology-based SMEs with.

General Policy of Research
a. Research is an integral part of the overall mission of STMIK AMIKOM Purwokerto, in the unity of Tri Dharma College. In this context, for STMIK AMIKOM Purwokerto, research is the systematic and continuous efforts in the embodiment of the role and mission STMIK AMIKOM Purwokerto in science and technology development.
b. Stimulated research covers all fields of science, with a high priority on the development of superior products, development of science and technology in accordance with the development needs of the nation. Specifically, Principal Scientific Pattern in STMIK AMIKOM Purwokerto is excellence in the development of science and technology-based techno used as orientation in choosing a research study. Aspects of public welfare in the orientation occupy a high position in the implementation of the study.
c. Operational policies are directed at the target of increasing research and development research including: (1) Improving research resources both in quality and quantity; (2) Strengthening the structure and function of institutional research; (3) Promoting cooperation in the field of research interdisciplinary institutions / other units in STMIK AMIKOM Purwokerto and other institutions outside STMIK AMIKOM Purwokerto (4) Promoting a sound management system and dynamic in the management of the implementation of the research

To achieve these goals, STMIK AMIKOM Purwokerto develops conducive scientific atmosphere and research ethics and the ethics of science and technology. Besides, the competitive spirit to give birth to works of scientific quality is also developed.

The research activities can be classified into: a) Category I: Research that is training / education / apprenticeship; b) Category II: Research to develop science and technology; c) Category III: Research to support development (sectoral, regional or national); d) Category IV: institutional research for the system development and institution management.

Management Research

Research institutions in STMIK AMIKOM Purwokerto are still at the level of the institution and named Unit of Quality Assurance (UPM), which helps the leadership in coordinating the research activities of the level of institutions and courses, including the tasks below: 1) to continue research information to lecturers in the program studies; 2) to guide lecturer preparing research proposals for the field study of each study program; 3) to conduct a review of all proposals for research faculty; 4) after review and approval (research with regular funds, the results of the reviews are arranged in ranking); 5) to supervise and monitor the implementation of the research by the faculty; 6) to hold a review of the research faculty.

Procedure of Research

    1. Each lecturer is only allowed to act as the lead researcher funded by Directorate General of Higher Education one time in one fiscal year. In addition, he is still allowed to act as members of the researcher or the person in charge or the supervisor of the research funded by the Directorate General of Higher Education. For other studies not funded Higher Education, each researcher should confine themselves for the sake of the quality of the process and findings. Every senior researcher, class IV, and / or has a doctorate, should put the research activities led or participated in as part of capacity building for researchers junior and student guidance in their respective working environments.
    2. Each study must be approved by the legality of the two elements of the leadership of the Vice Chairman of the First or Chief LP2M listed on the research proposal, and when there is a signature and a stamp is concerned, the research proposal can be forwarded or approved.
    3. Each study strongly suggested involving university students as research assistants. Students are expected to use these studies as a preparation of the thesis / scientific paper.
    4. The research proposal submitted by the Higher Education three (3) copies in Indonesian and specifically for competitive grants or other sources of international funding, if the proposal is accepted plus three (3) copies of the Terms of Reference (TOR) in English.
    5. The quality of research is the responsibility of researchers, under the supervision of mentors (when available) and LP2M. The whole process should be written in Log Book as part of the learning process and oversee mutual supervision mechanism established through a variety of ways, among others: the investigation of Log Book, field trips, meetings, and others.
    6. At the end of the study, all researchers must submit the Final Report Research according to the rules of each funder. And a scientific article which is managed by the Institute for Research will be submitted for publication in a scientific journal, both nationally and internationally.
